CELLAR NOTES

The idea was to create a wine with red and dark fruit flavours integrated with coffee/mocha flavours. To achieve this, toasted French oak were used and the wine was fermented on oak.

TASTING NOTES

Dark purple colour, nose shows mocha and roasted coffee bean flavours, a lot of tannins in the wine, but fine silky tannins very well integrated with oak, palate is mouth filling with a long and concentrated feeling. Once tasted, this is a wine not easily forgotten.

CELLAR NOTES

The idea was to create a wine with strong coffee/mocha flavours and well integrated oak on the palate. To achieve this heavily toasted French oak staves were used.

TASTING NOTES

Good colour, nose shows cherry fruit with mocha/dark chocolate flavours, a lot of tannins in the wine, but soft and very approachable, finely integrated, palate is mouth filling, surprisingly complex for such a young wine.

VINEYARD

Grapes from the Simonsberg Ward.

TASTING NOTES

Deep purple-red colour, nose shows the typical characteristics of ripe Shiraz, i.e. cherry sweetness and black cassis. The palate is soft and juicy, with some sweetness on the palate, very soft grape tannins. It is advisable that the wine is chilled prior to drinking.

VINEYARD

Mature vines grown in mineral rich Cape Granite soils in Stellenbosch.

CELLAR NOTES

Grapes received in very good condition. Ten hour skin contact and reductive handling prior to fermentation. Juice was cleaned by settling.

TASTING NOTES

The object with The Collection range is pleasant drinking and good value. The wine shows typical tropical notes supported by freshness and minerality. Well balanced and clean, fruity wine with a pleasant, lingering palate.

VINEYARD

Chenin and Viognier both on a deep, well drained, medium – high potential soil on a western facing slope; Semillon on a dark alluvial soil with varying water table (situated in a meadow).

CELLAR NOTES

Grapes crushed, over night skin contact allowed, cleaned by settling, fermented at 12-15ºC in SS tank.

TASTING NOTES

Golden colour. Viognier adds lovely ripe peach flavours to the nose, Chenin gives the fullness and mouthfeel. A medium bodied, ripe wine that finishes with good length and a lingering aftertaste of honey and peaches on the palate.

Grapes in excellent condition, two hours skin contact, juice cleaned by settling.

TASTING NOTES

The palate is fresh and well balanced with a clean finish. The firm acid and ample fruit provides for an ideal summer wine.
